Víctor Valdés already has his first reinforcement for the coming season. Barcelona have announced the capture of Brazilian defender Igor Gomes to become a part of the former goalkeeper’s Juvenil A team.
The 18-year-old defender comes from Portuguese lower-league club Coimbra. Gomes gained his reputation this year by shining in the São Paulo Junior Cup with Brazilian club Volta Redonda.
This is also the first signing for Patrick Kluivert, the former forward who has recently taken over as director of youth football at Barça. However, Mundo Deportivo says the player had already agreed to join prior to Kluivert’s appointment.
