Barcelona set to offer Frenkie de Jong new contract with huge pay cut

Barcelona are reportedly set to start fresh talks over a new contract with Frenkie de Jong and his agent.

The Dutchman midfielder’s current deal expires in 2026 and there’s been all sorts of speculation about his future at the club.

Diario AS report that Deco is ready to sit down and talk about an extension that will include a considerable pay cut.

De Jong is one of the highest-paid players in the first-team squad, and Barcelona want to make a big reduction if he is to stay at the Camp Nou.

The Barcelona midfielder has always insisted he loves Barcelona and wants to continue his career in Catalunya but it looks like he’ll have to accept a wage reduction if he is to stay.
