Soon after they got confirmation of the terrible news that midfielder Marc Bernal will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, Barcelona entered the transfer market to try and find a replacement.
They settled on Liverpool’s Stefan Bajcetic, and made a formal offer to sign the exciting 19-year-old holding midfielder on a season-long loan. But they couldn’t close the deal, and The Athletic’s David Ornstein now reports that Liverpool have agreed a loan deal with Red Bull Salzburg instead.
