Barcelona reportedly sounded out Hansi Flick’s representatives to see if the Bayern Munich boss fancied replacing Ronald Koeman as boss.
According to ESPN, the Catalan giants made a move but were told that Flick is close to signing a deal to replace Joachim Low as Germany boss.
Flick is expected to take charge of the national team after the European Championship. Low has already confirmed he’s standing down, while Barca have appointed Julian Nagelsmann as Flick’s replacement at the Allianz Arena.
The report adds that Xavi is still an option for Barcelona and that the club “continue to pay close attention to the Bundesliga” because Joan Laporta and the board are impressed by the “tactical developments” in Germany and the “physical level” of the players.
