Barcelona issue Marc-Andre ter Stegen injury update after successful back surgery

Barcelona have confirmed that first choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has undergone successful surgery on a back injury.

The Germany international has gone under the knife after missing Barcelona’s last three games because of the problem.

Here’s what the club have had to say:

“First team player Marc ter Stegen has successfully undergone surgery for his lower back issues. The procedure was performed by Dr. Amélie Léglise under the supervision of the Club’s Medical Services, at Sports Clinic Bordeux Merignac. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability.”

Barcelona haven’t offered any clues as to how long Ter Stegen will be out of action for, although it’s thought he will miss around two months.
