Barcelona fans banned from next Champions League away game after racist behavior

Barcelona fans have been banned from the club’s next Champions League away match at Red Star Belgrade on November 6 by UEFA.

The club have been sanctioned after being charged for racist behaviour by supporters during their opening fixture of this year’s competition against AS Monaco.

Barcelona have also been fined €10,000 and handed another suspended one-match ban on selling tickets to away fans for UEFA competition.

The club have responded in a statement:

“FC Barcelona communicate that UEFA have applied a €10,000 fine and banned the sale of tickets for an away Champions League game due to racist behaviour by some fans during the first matchday game played by the men’s football first team at the Stade Louis II in Monaco on 19 September.
