Barcelona midfielders Pedri and Marc Casado were notable absentees from training on Saturday as Hansi Flick’s side prepare to face Villarreal on Sunday.
The two players worked in the gym instead, on Flick’s instructions, but are both expected to be in the squad for Sunday’s match.
According to multiple reports, Barca have assured that it’s purely a precaution with Flick trying his best to protect his players amid a hectic schedule.
Flick also has few options to rotate his side on Sunday as Ferran Torres is suspended, while he’s also dealing with a large injury list that includes seven key players.
