Barcelona’s interest in trying to bring in Xavi Simons on loan over the summer appears to have cooled following the end of the season.
The Catalans had been thought to be keen to bring in Simons on loan, with the youngster said to be eager to come back to the club.
Diario Sport are now reporting that Barcelona have almost given up hope of landing Simons mainly for financial reasons.
New coach Hansi Flick is said to be an admirer, but Barca think they just won’t be able to afford it and also don’t think Simons is a priority this summer.
