Barcelona have confirmed that Lionel Messi is having treatment on an ankle problem but the captain is expected back in training after Tuesday’s La Liga match against Eibar.
Ronald Koeman’s men were back in training on Sunday after a brief Christmas break, but Messi was conspicuous by his absence at the training ground.
It was initially thought the captain was having an extended break after returning to Argentina over Christmas, but Barca have now confirmed he’s been having treatment on an injury problem.
“First team player, Lionel Messi, is completing the treatment for his right ankle, and is expected to return to training after the FC Barcelona v SD Eibar match.
