Barcelona avoided a European hangover by beating Valencia 2-1 at the Nou Camp following their extremely disappointing 3-0 loss to Roma which saw them get knocked out of the Champions League.
It was vital Barca continued their excellent league form which has seen them go unbeaten in all 31 league games prior to Saturday's game. Valencia came into the game in wonderful league form too, unbeaten in their last nine games.
And it was Valencia who started the first 15 minutes of the encounter as the much better team, posing Barcelona a major threat on the counter attack.
