PARIS -- Three thoughts on Wales 1-0 Northern Ireland in the round of 16 at Euro 2016.
1. Gareth Bale delivers for Wales again
Northern Ireland seemed to have done the hard bit. For 75 minutes, Gareth Bale hardly had a sniff, expertly shackled by a side that worked tirelessly to keep him away from dangerous areas. There had barely been a square of open grass to run into but when a glimpse arrived, he made it count.
Aaron Ramsey seemed to have made a sloppy touch when a shooting chance at the edge of the area appeared possible.
