Australia hold Mexico U17s to scoreless draw

The Mexico U-17 national team drew 0-0 with Australia in their second game of the U-17 World Cup.

In a match that began even between Mexico and Australia, Mexico gradually took over, with Eduardo Aguirre coming closest to breaking the deadlock.

At the restart, however, Australia came out with a different face and had greater opportunities on goal.

In the 87th minute, Abraham Romero came to Mexico's rescue. The LA Galaxy goalkeeper produced an outstanding save after a free kick by Australia looked headed towards goal.

With the result, Mexico failed to clinch their qualification to the next round and will have to wait for their next game against Germany on Saturday.
