Atlanta United announced Wednesday it has acquired midfielder Yamil Asad on a season-long loan from Velez Sarsfield of the Argentina Primera Division.
Asad, 22, has been with Velez for his entire professional and youth career. The right-footed attacking midfielder has made 55 appearances for Velez since making his pro debut in 2012, scoring four goals.
"We’re thrilled to add another exciting young player to our club," Atlanta United president Darren Eales said in a club release. "He’s an attack-minded player with a very high ceiling, and we’re confident in his ability to showcase his quality in MLS.
