Australia beat Jordan 5-1 on Tuesday to finish top of Group B in the second round of Asia's 2018 World Cup Qualifying, while Harry Redknapp's side will wait to find out if they will finish among the four best runners-up.
A brace from Tim Cahill and goals from Aaron Mooy, Tom Rogic and Massimo Luongo saw the Socceroos beat the Chivalrous easily, with Abdallah Deeb providing a late consolation. Jordan could have stolen top spot had they won, but they remained in second after a poor showing.
Later in the day, Japan and Syria will face off in a crunch clash at the summit of Group E, as will Iran and Oman in Group D.
