Argentina's Leo Messi Turns Down Man of the Match Award After Team Blows Lead

Leo Messi has quite enough awards, thank you very much—all he cares about is winning.

According to Ed Malyon in the Mirror, the Barcelona star was picked as man of the match during Argentina's opening Copa America match against Paraguay.

However, after watching his side blow a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2, Messi declined to take the award as he didn't feel he deserved it.

Messi said:

It’s maddening to go winning 2-0 and finish with a draw.

We should have slowed the match down when they were coming at us.
