Anthony Ujah opened his goal account for Mainz 05 in their 2-0 win over Belgian First Division A side Sporting Charleroi on Friday as part of their preparation for the 2018-19 season.
The Nigeria international who joined the Opel Arena outfit in January has made 16 appearances across all competitions without finding the net.
However, against the Zebras, the former Werder Bremen player ended the goal drought with his 65th-minute effort after Daniel Brosinski’s opener from the penalty spot.
The triumph will be expected to put them in good stead ahead of their German Cup clash with Erzgebirge Aue on July 18.
