'Another round of indictments' expected in FIFA case

Another round of indictments are expected in the criminal investigation involving FIFA, according to an IRS official.

A United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) official is "fairly confident" there will be further indictments in the criminal investigation into FIFA, the New York Times reported.

Nine FIFA officials and five corporate executives have already been indicted with racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracies, among other offenses.

The chief of the IRS United in charge of criminal investigations, Richard Weber, said he expected further indictments.

"I'm fairly confident that we will have another round of indictments," he was quoted as saying by the Times.
