Club América did not have the most convincing win, but they got the job done as they defeated Atlas 2-1 in the Round of 32 of the Leagues Cup. The Aguilas were given a direct birth to the knockout rounds since they are the current champions of Liga MX, so just like Columbus they were able to have a small break before their journey officially started in the tournament. It was not a dominating win as they struggled in front of goal but Atlas could not take advantage of their chances in goal and will now return to Mexico to prepare for the remainder of the Apertura 2024.
