The United States women's national team faced a tough test from Canada in the Concacaf W Gold Cup semifinals on Wednesday night, but goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher emerged as the hero the team needed.
After a pair of goals by each team in extra time led to a score of 2-2, the game went to a shootout, and that's where Naeher shined. Not only did she save three out of the four penalty kicks by Canada, but she even made one PK of her own to help give the USWNT a 3-1 edge to advance to the Gold Cup final.
