SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Defender Ventura Alvarado and forward Jordan Morris are getting their first starts with the U.S. national team and center back Omar Gonzalez is in the starting lineup for the first time since last summer's World Cup.
U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann changed eight starters for Wednesday night's exhibition game against Mexico, keeping only goalkeeper Nick Rimando, midfielder Michael Bradley and forward Gyasi Zardes from the lineup that opened last month's 1-1 tie at Switzerland.
DeAndre Yedlin was at right back, with Gonzalez and Alvarado in the center and Garza on the left.
