Liverpool are set to continue their busy summer recruitment programme as the Telegraph reports that the Anfield side are on the verge of securing a £12.5m deal for Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.
The Reds already had a £10m bid rejected last month but they have now offered an initial £10.5m which will rise to £12.5m. Manager Brendan Rodgers is hopeful that the latest proposal is enough to persuade Southampton to sell the right full back.
Liverpool are looking to sign a right-back in the summer following the departure of Glen Johnson and see Clyne as the ideal replacement replacement.
