Barcelona B left-back Alejandro Balde was called into first-team training on Tuesday and will now have the chance to show Ronald Koeman what he can do.
Balde initially joined up with Barcelona B for medical checks ahead of the new campaign but has now moved up to the first team.
It’s a big opportunity for the youngster, particularly with Barcelona no longer expected to bring in a replacement for Junior Firpo.
There have been reports that Barca will instead use Sergino Dest and Balde as back-up to Jordi Alba this season at left-back.
Barcelona B coach Sergio Barjuan admits it’s a big chance for Balde and the other youngsters currently working with Koeman and the first-team regular.
