The former Sunderland and England midfielder has been defended by his sibling ahead of sentencing later this month for child sex offences .
Adam Johnson's sister has liked a comment on her personal Facebook page which described her brother's child abuse victim as a "silly attention seeking wanna be [sic] wag!"
The footballer was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of grooming at Bradford Crown Court last week, and is expected to receive a prison sentence for his crimes later this month.
Johnson's actions have prompted widespread anger and disgust from the general public, while Sunderland chief executive Margaret Byrne has resigned after the club received criticism for paying and playing the winger before he pleaded guilty.
