In the crazy year that 2020 is, soccer coaches around the world have had a new wrinkle added to their squad selection. With COVID-19 still affecting people world wide, it’s causing selection questions for clubs when players test positive. Sporting Kansas City has had their share of it with two players testing positive for the first team and one on Sporting Kansas City II also testing positive over the course of the season. A positive COVID test has sidelined Nicholas Gioacchini at his French club, Caen. Gioacchini, who was born in Kansas City, has scored two goals in seven games for Caen so far on the season, but missed this weekend along with four other players who tested positive.
