Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste has criticised the decision to hand Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe a one-match ban for his red card against Alaves at the weekend.
Mbappe was originally shown a yellow card for an awful challenge on Antonio Blanco which was upgraded to a red after a VAR check.
It's now been confirmed that Mbappe has only received a one-game ban, leaving Yuste fairly incredulous at the decision.
"The tackle and the sanction are absolutely absurd. It was shocking and could have injured the opponent. It’s a disgrace,” he told RAC1.
Barcelona’s outrage is no surprise given that Hansi Flick received a two-man ban earlier this season for a gesture after a penalty was awarded against his side in a clash with Celta.
