6 of the 7 arrested in FIFA probe oppose extradition to US (The Associated Press)

BERN, Switzerland (AP) -- The Swiss justice ministry says six of the seven soccer officials arrested in a FIFA corruption probe oppose extradition to the United States.

The ministry says U.S. authorities now have 40 days to submit the formal extradition request.

One of those detained, who was unidentified, agreed to ''a simplified extradition procedure,'' meaning he can be sent to the U.S. in the coming days.

The seven were arrested early Wednesday by Swiss police in a raid at a Zurich hotel.

The U.S. Department of Justice identified them as Jeffrey Webb of the Cayman Islands, Eugenio Figueredo of Uruguay, Eduardo Li of Costa Rica, Julio Rocha of Nicaragua, Costas Takkas of Britain, Rafael Esquivel of Venezuela and Jose Maria Marin of Brazil.
