Question: Who is the best football player you've ever seen come through the SMU program?
Grosbard: That question could go a few different ways. In terms of pure athletic ability, it's got to be Courtland Sutton. Cole Beasley was outrageously entertaining to watch because defenses could never take him down on the first try. Then Garrett Gilbert is an extremely underrated Mustang because when he went down with an injury toward the end of the 2013 season, it took SMU 13 games before it was finally able to win again.
