SMU announced the 2018 induction class to its athletics hall of fame on Tuesday. The group is made up of women's basketball standout Janielle Dodds, men's basketball alum Denny Holman, former safety Wes Hopkins, golfer Hank Kuehne, diver Cheril Santini and the late dual-sport athlete Clyde Carter.
Carter played both football and basketball at SMU and earned All-American honors as an offensive tackle in 1934.
Hopkins was an All-Southwest Conference safety for SMU in 1981 and 1982, both seasons for which SMU claims national titles. He finished his SMU career with 14 interceptions, fourth in program history, and was a second-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1983.
