SMU seniors Garrett Stotts and Jordan Wyatt are under consideration for national awards that value off-the-field activities.
Stotts, the long snapper for four season, is a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes academic performance and citizenship in addition to playing performance. Stotts has a 3.688 grade point average while majoring in sports management with a minor in sports performance leadership. The American Athletic Conference has named him to its all-academic team in each of the last three seasons.
Wyatt, a cornerback, is SMU's nominee for the Senior CLASS award. The acronym stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School and goes to a senior athlete who excels in community, classroom, character and competition.
