After four years at SMU, quarterback Ben Hicks is looking for a new place to play.
Hicks notified the coaching staff this week that he was going to transfer to a new school to complete his final year of NCAA eligibility, a source with knowledge of the situation told The News. The news was first reported on Wednesday by 247Sports.com.
Hicks, who redshirted his first year on campus, started 33 games in three seasons as the Mustangs' top quarterback. He is SMU's career leader in several passing categories, including attempts, completions, touchdowns and passing yards.
