UNIVERSITY PARK -- While talking about SMU's upcoming indoor practice facility during a signing day Q&A moderated by Cowboys play-by-play analyst Brad Sham, Mustang head coach Sonny Dykes said that the hope is that commitment from the university and its alumni will show recruits that SMU is serious about being an elite program.
Sham asked Dykes whether elite was relative in college football, considering the perception gap between power five and non-power five programs.
"I don't think so. ... I've been there in both settings," said Dykes, who previously coached at the Pac-12's California and Conference-USA's Louisiana Tech.
