Semi Ojeleye has made history.
The star big man became the first SMU player to be selected in the NBA Draft since Jeryl Sasser back in 2001 when the Boston Celtics took him with the 37th overall pick in the second round Thursday night.
A former four-star recruit, Ojeleye began his career at Duke, where he played sparingly. Ojeleye transferred just before the Blue Devils won the 2015 national championship.
Ojeleye arrived at SMU in January of 2015 but had to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules. He then volunteered to take a redshirt after SMU was hit with a postseason ban last year.
