Key returnees: William Brown (sophomore), Austin Upshaw (sophomore), Derek Green (redshirt freshman), Jacob Oehrlein (redshirt freshman)
Key losses: Ben Hicks (graduate transfer -- Arkansas)
Newcomers: Shane Buechele (graduate transfer -- Texas), Terrance Gipson (early enrollee, Houston Westfield HS)
Biggest unanswered question: Quite frankly, SMU didn't have a rostered quarterback it could depend on until ex-UT QB Shane Buechele announced he would transfer to The Hilltop last week. Sophomore William Brown performed well in brief stints under center during the 2018 season, but Buechele is certainly more of a long-term solution to the void left by Ben Hicks' departure.
