ANNAPOLIS - SMU linebacker Kyran Mitchell left SMU’s 43-40 loss to Navy in the third quarter with an apparent knee injury.
Mitchell had left the game in the second quarter with a similar injury, only to return for Navy’s second drive of the third quarter. He had to be helped off the field by two trainers after being down on the field for several minutes in obvious pain. The junior bypassed the trainers’ table on the sidelines and headed straight to the locker room for further evaluation and treatment.
Mitchell had five tackles before exiting the game.
