DALLAS -- SMU junior guard Keith Frazier is transferring after taking time away from the Mustangs to consider his future with the program.
Coach Larry Brown said Friday that Frazier, a former Dallas high school star and McDonald's All American, "wanted a fresh start."
Frazier's online course work before he enrolled at SMU was part of an NCAA investigation that led to sanctions in the fall against the Mustangs (16-0), who are ranked No. 10 but banned from postseason play in 2015-16.
Brown said Frazier was academically eligible when he left the program.
