The wait is officially over.
SMU named Oklahoma transfer Tanner Mordecai its starting quarterback for the season-opener against Abilene Christian this week, a source told The Daily Campus.
Mordecai beat out true freshman Preston Stone and former backup Derek Green for the job.
“I feel comfortable here. I feel comfortable with the offense,” Mordecai said after practice last week. “I have been running an offense [like this] for three years now. I’m not too worried about that and I’m not too worried about the [quarterback battle] either.”
