The elements will be the stronger force than the opponent for SMU to contend with during Saturday's game at Connecticut.
The forecast for East Hartford calls for a temperature 45 degrees with 16 mph winds for the 11 a.m. (Central) kickoff at Pratt & Whitney Stadium. That is teeth-chattering cold for a team from the Sun Belt.
It will mark the first time this season SMU (4-5, 3-2 AAC) has had a game-time temperature of less than 75 degrees. SMU's previous trip into cold weather came during its only visit to East Hartford. The Mustangs won in 37-degree temperature to conclude the 1-11 season of 2014.
