SMU senior offensive lineman Nick Natour has undergone season-ending back surgery.
Natour, of Frisco, has been a versatile performer this season. He made two starts at left guard and five starts at left tackle.
"A tough loss,'' coach Sonny Dykes said on Monday. "Nick has provided a lot of leadership, played a lot of games and been a really good player.''
Sophomore Beau Morris replaced Natour at left tackle in Saturday's win against Houston. It was Morris' first start for SMU.
