UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU linebacker Kyran Mitchell and defensive tackle J.T. Williams are both expected to play against Memphis, head coach Chad Morris said at his Tuesday press conference.
Mitchell and Williams suffered lower-leg injuries in SMU's 43-40 loss to Navy on Saturday. Mitchell left the game in the third quarter while Williams suffered his injury on the penultimate play of the game.
Mitchell, who has started every game for SMU at the star linebacker position, is fourth on the team with 58 tackles and is tied for the team lead with 13 tackles for loss. Williams has started one game this season and has 22 tackles in 10 games.
