SMU lands first commit in 2019 recruiting class

It looks like SMU will recruit Louisiana hard under new head coach Sonny Dykes.

After focusing primarily on Texas with Chad Morris at the helm, Dykes and SMU landed a key target from the Bayou State on Thursday in three-star Hahnville (La.) athlete Jha'Quan Jackson.

He announced is decision via Twitter.

Jackson committed to SMU over offers from Houston, Kentucky, North Texas, Southern Miss, Tulane, West Virginia and others.

At 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Jackson is ranked as the No. 88 athlete in the country and No. 30 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana, per 247Sports.
