SMU defensive back AJ Davis was stretchered off the field and taken to a local hospital after suffering an injury that resulted in neck pain in the second quarter of Saturday night's home game against Pitt.
Davis was hurt while attempting a tackle, per The Athletic's Chris Vannini.
SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee said at halftime that Davis could move his extremities but felt pain in his neck, per Sports Illustrated's Bryan Fischer.
Davis is in his third season with SMU following his redshirt freshman campaign in 2022.
