UNIVERSITY PARK -- Midway through its second season under Chad Morris, SMU provided tangible proof of its potential with a dominating victory over No. 11 Houston.
Despite losing eight players to season-ending injuries, the young Mustangs rebounded from a potentially devastating Oct. 7 overtime loss to post the school's first victory over a ranked team in five years.
For players and coaches, their hard work was finally rewarded with a signature victory.
"We've been selling these guys a dream for a while; now they've had the opportunity to see what it looks like," defensive coordinator Van Malone said.
