GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Horace Richardson returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns and SMU beat East Carolina 54-31 on Saturday.
Richardson's 70-yard return put the Mustangs in front 31-17 in the second quarter and his 80-yarder in the third made it 45-24.
The picks were the fifth and sixth for Richardson, and with Darrion Millines making his fifth, the Mustangs have 17 this season. SMU came in tied for third nationally in that category and has interceptions in eight of its 10 games.
The Mustangs (5-5, 3-3 American) have their most wins since 2013 after rolling up 477 yards offense.
