One of SMU Basketball's senior leaders won't be available on opening night.
Jarrey Foster, who's spent the offseason recovering from a partial ACL tear suffered last season in a game at Wichita State, will not see the floor vs. Northwestern State on Thursday. Stadium Network's Jeff Goodman was the first to report.
Foster, who averaged 13.2 points per game last season before his injury, is considered a critical piece of SMU's roster this season. The Mustangs will rely on Foster heavily with point guard Shake Milton having departed early for the NBA.
Foster himself is considered an NBA prospect and received the second-most votes by SportsDay contributors for Texas Player of the Year.
