After Gus Malzahn signed an extension to remain at Auburn rather than take the head coaching job at Arkansas, SMU's Chad Morris could be the next candidate on the Razorbacks' list.
CBS Sports' Barrett Sallee reported that either Memphis' Mike Norvell and Morris will be the next priority at Arkansas. Sallee added that his sources expect Arkansas to move "very quickly" to replace the fired Bret Bielema.
Morris has previously been tied to the Tennessee and Ole Miss jobs. He's in his third year as SMU's head coach and has led the Mustangs to a 14-22 record in that time, including a 7-5 mark this season that earned SMU a trip to the Frisco Bowl.
