Reggie Roberson Jr.'s transfer to SMU continues to pay dividends vs. Houston

As wide receiver Reggie Roberson Jr. streaked down the middle of the field late in the third quarter Saturday, SMU's homecoming crowd let out a roar.

The sophomore had pulled away from the Houston defenders tasked with covering him on a deep route, and quarterback Ben Hicks' long pass appeared primed to reach him in stride.

That's exactly what happened. To the delight of the SMU fans in Gerald J. Ford Stadium, Roberson hauled in the pass and shook free from a Houston players' late, lunging attempt to bring him down.

The 59-yard touchdown marked Hicks and Roberson's third scoring connection in the past two games, a rapport SMU should hope will continue as it pushes for bowl eligibility in the last three games of the season.
