With two events left to play in the regular season, the SMU Men’s Golf team is ranked 31 in the nation for Division I men’s golf.
So far, the Mustangs have had a successful spring season. The team won the season-opener, the Farms Collegiate Invitational Title in Rancho Sante Fe, Calif. Feb. 8-9, and Ryan Burgess got an invitational title.
The Mustangs went on to finish tied for fifth at the 2016 All-American Intercollegiate in Houston Feb. 19-21. Senior Austin Smotherman had the lowest score for the Mustangs and finished tied for 10th.
The Mustangs finished tied for eighth in the following tournament, the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas March 7-9, out of 15 teams.
