The first half of SMU's 2018 schedule has had no shortage of challenging opponents. The Mustangs' game on Saturday night against the UCF Knights marked the third time that they have played a ranked opponent this season.
SMU played No. 16 TCU in its third game of the year and traveled to No. 19 Michigan a week later. Both of those games ended in blowout losses for the Mustangs. This year was also the first time that SMU played three ranked opponents in the first half of its schedule since the 2014 season.
