UNIVERSITY PARK -- Sophomore Ken McLaurin could get more playing time as SMU's adjusts to not having defensive tackle Demerick Gary for the first half of Friday's home game against Memphis, which has the No. 5 rushing offense at the FBS level.
Gary must sit out the half because of a targeting penalty incurred during last week's win at Connecticut. Gary has been a stout defender against the run all season.
"We're going to have to adjust," Mustangs coach Sonny Dykes said. "There will be pressure on the other guys to step up. Any time you don't have a player the caliber of Demerick Gary, it makes an impact.
