Here are notes from SMU's final preseason scrimmage on Saturday night:
-- Ten Mustangs did not dress for the final scrimmage: Defensive linemen Mason Gentry, Jordan Gipson, Dimarya Mixon and Toby Ndukwe; linebackers Myles Duke, Richard Moore and Jordan Ward; defensive backs Michael Clark and Brent Freeman; offensive lineman Bryce Wilds; wide receiver J.R. Griffin; and tight end Corey Rau.
-- This was not a particularly serious scrimmage. The main team faced the true freshman who will make up the scout team this season. The players dressed in full pads but there was no tackling.
